Role Overview: Global Director of Software and Data Engineering, Enterprise Data Office

As the Global Director of Software and Data Engineering, Enterprise Data Office (EDO), you will spearhead Capital Group's data transformation, enabling new product launches and investment strategies to drive strategic growth. You will inspire and lead high-performing engineering teams to build innovative, scalable, and resilient software and data solutions for global Operating Groups like Investment Operations, ITG, Global Finance, and various stakeholders within the Investment Group and Client Groups. This role is crucial for Capital Group's market success, focusing on product data management, client-facing data, and marketing/publishing data automation.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • 15+ years of experience in software and data engineering or AI/data science, with at least 5 years in senior leadership roles.
  • Demonstrated success in leading global, cross-functional engineering teams.
  • Deep expertise in modern data and software engineering platforms and practices (e.g., cloud-native architectures, modern application design, CI/CD, DevOps, data mesh).
  • Experience driving enterprise-wide technology transformations and delivering measurable business impact.
  • Strong expertise in the Financial Services and Asset Management industries and ability to influence at all levels.
  • Commitment to developing talent and building high-performing, diverse teams.
  • Experience with platforms and tools such as AWS, Azure, Python, Spark, Airflow, Kubernetes, DBT, Databricks, and modern front-end frameworks.

Compensation & Benefits

The Southern California Base Salary Range for this position is $263,560-$448,052. In addition to a highly competitive base salary, you will be eligible for an individual annual performance bonus, Capital’s annual profitability bonus, and a retirement plan where Capital contributes 15% of your eligible earnings.
