Overview
The Academic Coach at Capella University is the primary contact for learners from orientation through program completion, providing guidance, mentorship, and personalized support to help them navigate their academic journey.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist learners in developing academic plans that align with career goals.
- Monitor progress using tools, systems, and program analytics.
- Proactively support at-risk learners and address potential barriers.
- Collaborate with faculty and university partners to resolve learner issues.
- Facilitate clear communication through various channels.
Essential Duties
The Academic Coach builds strong relationships, motivates learners, and facilitates strategic planning which includes academic planning, progress monitoring, risk mitigation, and conflict resolution. The role also involves using software applications, maintaining detailed documentation, and participating in projects and training to support departmental goals.

Work Environment

Qualifications
The candidate is expected to have two to four years of professional experience with a strong background in coaching, critical thinking, and problem solving. A Bachelor’s degree is required while a Master’s or Doctoral degree is preferred for advanced roles.
