About Canva and the Role

Join the team redefining how the world experiences design. As a Senior AI Automation Engineer at Canva, you will build production‐ready automation services using Python and TypeScript, leveraging solutions like LangChain, LangGraph, and Canva’s internal platforms. This role is remote across ANZ with flagship campuses and hubs across Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Perth and Adelaide.

Key Responsibilities

  • Architect and code automation services for production systems.
  • Transform prototypes into secure, resilient, large-scale systems.
  • Fine-tune, evaluate and integrate LLMs, embeddings and vector stores.
  • Instrument services with metrics, tracing and manage incident response.
  • Collaborate with PMs, designers and analysts to develop measurable AI-powered solutions.

Who You Are

You are an experienced engineer who has shipped AI or automation solutions that reduce manual effort. You possess strong system-integration and troubleshooting skills, and you communicate technical concepts clearly. You work autonomously, and are passionate about learning and experimenting with new technologies while ensuring security and compliance in enterprise settings.

About the Team

This role is part of the Content & Discovery supergroup, focused on connecting users with the right content at the right time. Your work will transform manual processes into machine-powered, always-on systems, significantly enhancing productivity at Canva.
