Role Overview: Solutions Architect Automotive

The Solutions Architect Automotive at Canonical helps automotive partners and prospects (including companies like Mercedes, Ford, GM, Elektrobit, Intel, Nvidia, Google, Dell, HP, Accenture, Tata and others) understand and embrace Canonical's open source platform. This role requires deep Linux expertise, embedded systems background, and proficiency in coding and scripting. You will engage directly with customers, assist presales activities, and drive technical solutions for automotive applications.

Responsibilities

  • Engage customers during presales to gather requirements
  • Collaborate with Canonical experts to form comprehensive solutions
  • Participate in Embedded Linux project deliveries including demos and PoCs
  • Convey market requirements to key stakeholders and contribute to solution refinement
  • Act as a customer advocate and trusted advisor

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field
  • Extensive Linux experience, preferably with Debian/Ubuntu
  • Solid embedded Linux experience with Yocto or RTOS
  • Proficient in Golang, Python, C, C++, or Rust
  • Automotive industry experience is a plus
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Willingness to travel up to 30% of the time
