About Canonical
The Software Alliances team at Canonical works with leading software companies to optimize and enable their products with Ubuntu and other Canonical software, including AI offerings. We develop joint product roadmaps, drive delivery, and formulate go-to-market plans, content, and processes, enabling differentiated offerings and robust product life-cycle support anchored to best-in-class Canonical products.
The Role
As the Software Alliances Director, Americas, you will set account strategies for major accounts, regions, and verticals. You will partner with product, engineering, alliance, and marketing teams to align on open-source strategies and capture partner requirements to identify Canonical opportunities.
- Define account strategy and partner enablement tactics.
- Collaborate on product messaging, content creation, and go-to-market plans.
- Drive Ubuntu adoption in targeted alliance accounts.
- Create joint materials such as blueprints, presentations, and webinars.
- Influence partners to adopt Canonical technology with up to 25% travel internationally.
What We Are Looking For
The ideal candidate has 7+ years of business development, product management, or related experience. You must be passionate about open source, have cross-functional leadership skills, and be able to navigate complex, technical challenges. A bachelor's degree in science, technology, or engineering and customer-facing experience in software engineering, product management, or technology strategy are essential.
Nice-to-Have Skills
- Experience with open source software and business models.
- Product or program management experience.
- Understanding of marketing and go-to-market strategies.
- Sector-specific experience in finance, telecom, automotive, or public sectors.
- Post-graduate degree in a related field.
