About The Role

The Business Development Leader II role at CannonDesign focuses on providing strategic and tactical business development leadership within an assigned region or national market/practice. You will partner with the Executive Director of the East Region to collaborate with Market and Client Leaders in positioning the firm for new business opportunities and advancing client engagement strategies. You will also help develop client and partner relationships to secure new projects and be an ambassador of our brand by showcasing our Living-Centered Design approach.

What You Will Do

This role centers on business development activities including supporting client pursuits identified by other leaders, identifying new opportunities, and external brand activities. Responsibilities include:

  • Top Line Growth: Lead efforts to secure a minimum of $10M in net fee opportunities and $3M NSF per year.
  • Pre-positioning and Intelligence Gathering: Conduct analysis and maintain a robust pipeline using tools like Vantagepoint.
  • Collaboration: Work with regional and market leaders to refine pursuit strategies and client engagement.
  • Best Practices: Develop and implement effective client pursuit, retention, and marketing strategies.

About Your Qualifications

A minimum of 12 years in marketing/business development roles, preferably in the A/E/C industry, is required. Candidates should have a proven track record in developing and executing marketing business plans and building client relationships. A Bachelor's degree in marketing or a related field is required, along with strong business acumen, leadership, organizational and communication skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and CRM platforms is a plus.

Compensation & Benefits

The salary range for this position is between $149,800 and $187,300 annually, with potential discretionary bonuses. Benefits include medical, dental, and vision coverage, paid time off, flex-time and remote work options, a 401k plan, and various employee perks.
