Overview

The Risk division is responsible for credit, market, operational, model, liquidity, and insurance risks across the firm. In this role, as a Risk Vice President, Software Engineering, you will work within the Risk Engineering team at Goldman Sachs, combining Computer Science, Mathematics, and Finance to deliver large-scale computational risk metrics.

Risk Business

The Risk Business identifies, monitors, evaluates, and manages financial and non-financial risks supporting the firm’s Risk Appetite Statement and strategic plan. Working in a fast-paced environment, the team uses best-in-class risk tools and frameworks with analytical curiosity and commitment to excellence.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain high-performance risk metric calculation applications.
  • Utilize Java, Python, Spring, and cloud-based tools (AWS) for software engineering.
  • Performance tune applications to improve memory and CPU utilization.
  • Build internal/external reports using SQL and data visualization tools.
  • Oversee junior technical team members and manage the full SDLC.

Technical Environment

Technologies include Java, Python, Spring framework, Linux/shell scripting, Maven/Gradle/Ant, AWS, Snowflake, Sybase IQ, and distributed computing frameworks.
