Overview
The Development Coordinator role at Canadian Tire Corporation supports the Development Manager, Western Canada and a multidisciplinary team in evaluating properties for development and redevelopment. The position involves coordinating real estate initiatives and securing regulatory approvals for various Canadian Tire business units across Western Canada.
Main Responsibilities
- Support property evaluation and redevelopment projects.
- Guide consultants on municipal approval processes including Official Community Plan Amendments, Zoning By-law Amendments, and more.
- Coordinate with CAD Designers to prepare conceptual site plans and schedules.
- Track critical dates and prepare presentation packages for the Real Estate Committee.
- Review legal documentation such as Leases, title registrations, and purchase/sales agreements.
- Monitor updates on municipal by-laws, Environmental Assessments, and development charges.
- Assist with document controls and follow-up procedures with municipalities and stakeholders.
What You Bring
The ideal candidate has a university or college level education in planning or a related field, a minimum of 2 years’ experience, excellent communication and organizational skills, and the ability to work under tight deadlines with changing priorities. MCIP or RPP designation is an asset.
