The Role of UX Content Copywriter Specialist
As a key member of the product team, reporting to the Director of Product Management & Marketing, you will blend persuasive copywriting with strategic storytelling to craft content that guides users through intuitive and engaging digital experiences. Your writing will be clear, concise, and aligned with industry standards while helping our users complete tasks and navigate their journeys effectively.
In this role you will:
- Apply UX content design methodologies to shape product and platform content architecture and guide prototype planning with the broader user journeys and objectives validated through usability testing.
- Collaborate with our cross-functional agile product team to craft user-role specific personalized content and persuasive storytelling for the launch of a new microsite (CMS) and the First Aid App.
- Create engaging content to drive course enrollments, showcase new platform features, refresh seasonal homepage experiences, & develop training materials to support upcoming feature releases.
- Develop SEO and GEO optimized content to secure top rankings in AI overviews search results.
- Produce clear, accurate, and compelling user interface (UI) copy such as CTAs, error messaging, UI states, tooltips, form fields, navigation text, onboarding screens & walkthroughs with inclusivity and accessibility in mind.
- Partner with UX designers & digital marketing advisor to co-create user-driven journeys that align with Marketing funnel strategies, ensuring content meets WCAG 2.1 Level AA standards and conforms to our design system.
- Integrate insights and findings from usability testing and user research into content decisions.
- Collaborate with Publishing & Learning Solutions to ensure consistent digital assets and content that adhere to approved messaging, accessibility, legal, regulatory requirements and brand guidelines.
- Partner with technical support and Zendesk application support specialist with drafting new customer service or staff training materials, agent auto-assist checklists, macros, integrate other knowledge sources, knowledge base articles and generative procedures for AI agents (ie. decision tree) by organizing this content by user segments and topics.
- Contribute to the publishing team’s defining content governance, workflows, asset management and standards including templates and guidelines to advance our content design and digital writing practices.
- Provide translation requests to senior communications advisor.
- Stay current with industry best practices, legal considerations and technological advancements in communication and digital asset management to inform strategy and system use.
- Provide backup support for other writers during peak workloads or absences, adapting content to match the voice, tone and role-specific requirements of the writer being covered.
What we are looking for:
- A minimum of 4 to 7 years of experience along with a 3-year diploma or university degree in communications, public relations, journalism, digital media or related field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Knowledge of usability principles, including Nielsen Norman’s heuristics and UX laws.
- Proficient in writing to meet WCAG 2.1 Level AA accessibility standards.
- Familiarity with UX terminology, taxonomies, and design thinking methodologies.
- Experience using Figma and working within design systems.
- Strong foundation in content strategy planning, structuring, and presenting information effectively.
- Exceptional writing, editing, proofreading, and verbal communication skills.
- Skilled in storytelling with a clear understanding of voice and tone.
- Hands-on experience with UX research tools such as UX playbook.
- Familiarity with digital asset management systems, lifecycle workflows, and metadata best practices.
- Strong understanding of communication strategy and audience engagement across diverse platforms.
