About the Role

The Program Specialist - Capacity Building at Canadian Red Cross is a permanent full-time position in a partially virtual/hybrid work environment. You will work within the Education and Training team, contributing to evidence-informed, culturally responsive resource development and training programs aimed at enhancing community resilience and staff development.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and facilitate Training of Trainer programs.
  • Implement culturally relevant learning programs via multiple formats.
  • Develop training frameworks, guidelines, and methodologies.
  • Adapt and curate training content for diverse audiences.
  • Mentor trainers and support professional development initiatives.
  • Implement evaluation tools and feedback mechanisms for training effectiveness.
  • Support quality assurance, compliance, and risk management efforts.
  • Represent CRC in professional networks and partnerships.
  • Maintain and update learning materials for accuracy and relevance.

Qualifications

Applicants should have 4-7 years of experience, a 3-year college diploma or university degree in instructional design, adult education, learning & development or a related field, and experience working with diverse communities, including Indigenous and underserved populations. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and strong communication, problem-solving, and engagement skills are required.

Working Conditions

  • Occasional travel to remote and challenging locations.
  • Possible domestic or international travel to safe environments.
  • Flexibility to adapt to changes in work priorities and emergency response efforts.
  • Eligible candidates must have legal authorization to work in Canada.
  • Successful completion of pre-employment screening including an Enhanced Police Information Check (E-PIC) is required.
