Games Manager
Canada's Wonderland is seeking a Games Manager to join their Retail Department. This is a year-round, full-time career opportunity with benefits.
Responsibilities:
- Manage full-time and seasonal associates for Games, including hiring, training, and development.
- Oversee the planning and execution of pre-opening set-up, including cleaning, organizing, and procurement of supplies for assigned locations.
- Liaise with inter-department partners to ensure technical start-ups are complete and adequate product levels are maintained.
- Assist the Director with planning, budgeting, and execution of all aspects of the Games operation.
- Manage the duty manager program for operations associates to ensure guest service meets expectations.
- Collaborate with the Director to ensure POS, divisional processes, and procedures are in place for accurate sales, controls, tracking, and reporting.
- Monitor labor through effective execution of availability, staff schedules, and schedule changes.
- Assist in developing department policies and procedures to maintain service excellence, quality, and proper controls.
- Oversee the department’s financial performance and take action to meet sales goals.
- Manage appropriate inventory levels throughout the season, achieving targeted Cost of Sales and closing inventory levels.
- Manage open-to-buy, prize product selection, and quantities, working with approved vendors for re-orders.
- Ensure proper maintenance and cleaning of grounds, facilities, and equipment.
- Ability to work shifts, weekends, holidays, and evenings is essential.
Qualifications:
- Post-secondary education in a related field or equivalent experience supervising/managing in a multi-faceted retail operation.
- Proven experience hiring, training, and developing employees.
- Knowledge of internal controls and POS systems is a must.
- Proven ability to successfully manage a high-volume customer service operation.
- Strong communication and leadership skills.
- Excellent computer skills.
- Experience with sourcing, buying, budgets, and data analysis is a definite asset.
- Proven ability to problem-solve, work with strict deadlines, and work independently.
