About the role
Camino is partnering with a PE-backed platform that has completed over 20 acquisitions and is building the leading business in its sector across North America. This is a senior, high-impact FP&A role sitting at the right hand of the Group President — not a controllership seat, but a forward-looking financial intelligence function at the heart of a rapidly scaling multi-entity platform.
This role is for a genuine super individual contributor — someone who is hands-on, relentlessly analytical, and moves at the pace the business demands. You'll own the financial picture across multiple acquired businesses simultaneously, drive critical operating decisions, and be a central voice on every M&A deal the team pursues.
What You'll Be Doing
- Serving as the go-to financial authority on percentage-of-completion accounting across the portfolio — building and maintaining the bridge between POC-recognized revenue and cash, and partnering with controllers and auditors on policy questions.
- Owning the full P&L and cash picture across multiple businesses simultaneously — including margin management, cost structure, working capital, cash conversion, and ROI decisions.
- Building, stress-testing, and identifying flaws in complex financial models — probabilistic and scenario-based, not just point estimates.
- Developing forecasts using leading indicators and business driver logic — owning KPI tracking, sensitivity analysis, pricing analytics, and gross margin improvement tracking.
- Serving as the financial operating voice on every M&A deal — contributing to investment committee discussions pre-close, building post-close budgets with incoming CEOs, and tracking diligence-to-reality variances in real time.
- Actively using AI tools as day-to-day financial workflow infrastructure — accelerating analysis, automating routine modelling, and building AI-enabled workflows that scale with the portfolio.
- Translating complex financial dynamics into clear, concise insights for the Group President and operating leaders — communicating at the operator level to drive action.
- Producing analysis that moves the team toward a clear conclusion, and having the confidence to raise a constructive perspective when the numbers point in a different direction.
What We're Looking
- For7+ years of progressive FP&A experience in a multi-entity or platform operating environment — field services, specialty contracting, or adjacent industries strongly preferred.
- Currently working in or deeply familiar with a POC-driven, project-based services environment — this is a hard requirement.
- Demonstrated experience owning multi-entity P&L accountability across genuinely distinct businesses simultaneously
- Proven M&A operating experience from inside an acquiring company — pre-close financial diligence and post-close integration
- Expert-level financial modelling proficiency, including probabilistic and scenario-based approaches
- Active, demonstrable use of AI tools as day-to-day financial workflow infrastructure — specific current examples will be expected
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field required; MBA or CPA a plus
- Willingness and ability to travel approximately 25% of the time
The Kind of Person Who Thrives Here
- Digs into job costing, margin leakage, and operational drivers — never satisfied with a surface-level answer
- Brings insights forward before being asked and communicates conclusions briefly and without ambiguity
- Shares what the numbers actually say, even when the message is a difficult one
- Produces actionable insight from imperfect data — works with what exists, not what they wish existed
- Energised by complexity and rapid M&A activity — sees the pace as the point, not the problem
Why This Role
- Sit at the right hand of a Group President in a business that is actively scaling through acquisition — the work is consequential from day one
- Real M&A exposure at every stage — pre-close diligence, investment committee, and post-close integration
- A platform backed by a highly regarded middle-market PE firm with significant AUM and a clear mandate to keep building
- A culture that values intellectual honesty, pace, and genuine ownership — not politics or hand-holding
- Competitive compensation and a comprehensive benefits package
