About the role

About the Role

CAMH is seeking a motivated and experienced full-time, temporary (18 months) Team Lead (Training) for the 9-8-8 National Hub Training Team. This team is responsible for developing, coordinating, delivering, and evaluating learning activities for 9-8-8 Hub Responders. As a Team Lead, you will oversee Training Coordinators and support the effective planning, delivery, and continuous improvement of responder training, reporting to Hub Leadership.

Responsibilities

  • Lead, supervise, and mentor 9-8-8 National Hub Training Coordinators, providing direction, feedback, and coaching.
  • Establish and monitor team goals, expectations, and performance standards aligned with training objectives.
  • Foster a collaborative, inclusive, and supportive team environment.
  • Oversee the design, coordination, scheduling, and facilitation of training activities for 9-8-8 Hub Responders, including live session delivery.
  • Collaborate with Hub Leadership to develop, implement, and continuously improve training plans.
  • Lead the development, review, and maintenance of training materials, ensuring alignment with policies and best practices.
  • Identify gaps and opportunities for improvement in training programs and processes.
  • Promote effective learning by integrating applied methods like role plays and simulations.
  • Oversee the Learning Management System to track trainee progress and maintain records.
  • Ensure Training Coordinators have necessary resources and support.
  • Participate in regular meetings and contribute to broader training initiatives.
  • Maintain current knowledge of 9-8-8 procedures and emerging practices.
  • Ensure adherence to program standards, policies, and guidelines.
  • Participate in the backup on-call rotation for 9-8-8 Shift Supervisors.
  • Approve timesheets and manage time-off requests for direct reports.

Qualifications

  • Post-secondary degree in a related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of full-time Crisis/distress centre experience as both a responder and supervisor.
