Overview

This role is part of CAMH's Forensic Assessment and Treatment Unit in the Complex Care and Recovery Program.
Role Description
The Program Assistant will work as a key member of an inter-professional team to support client care and maintain a safe, therapeutic environment. Responsibilities include organizing and optimizing service functions, conducting client assessments, and providing direct patient care with an emphasis on least restraint practices.
- Accompany clients on transfers, appointments, and programming.
- Collect and communicate client data and behavioural observations.
- Maintain security of the program by regulating the physical environment.
- Work collaboratively with clinical staff and diverse clients.
Qualifications and Requirements
Candidates must have a Grade 12 education (or equivalent), CPR Certification and a Personal Care Worker Certificate, or be pursuing education in a health related field. First Aid training and computer skills are assets. One year of experience in a health related field is preferred. Effective interpersonal and organizational skills are required along with the ability to work in an interprofessional team. Familiarity with clinical care in mental health and/or addiction settings is a plus. Bilingualism in French/English or proficiency in another language is an asset.
