Core Responsibilities for the Frontend Engineer role

• Act as a self-starter and take ownership as the first Frontend Engineer in Europe, setting the foundation for future growth.
• Design and develop responsive, high-performance user interfaces using React JS and related technologies.
• Integrate AI-powered personalization and recommendations into the frontend experience.
• Collaborate with backend engineers to optimize API design and performance, ensuring smooth and reliable interactions.
• Implement and maintain design systems and reusable component libraries that scale across the platform.
• Optimize frontend performance (rendering, loading, caching) for video-first discovery and booking flows.
• Ensure accessibility, responsiveness, and cross-device compatibility.
• Design and run experiments with Statsig to validate frontend flows, personalization strategies, and conversion improvements.
• Collaborate with product and growth teams to translate experiment results into scalable product features.
• Write and maintain unit and integration tests to ensure quality and reliability.
• Participate in code reviews, debugging, and documentation to maintain a clean, maintainable codebase.
• Stay up to date with frontend tools, frameworks, and best practices, bringing forward ideas for innovation and scale.

Candidate Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• 4–5 years of experience in frontend development using React JS and related technologies.
• Strong knowledge of HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and TypeScript, with the ability to write clean, efficient, and maintainable code.
• Familiarity with frontend libraries and frameworks such as Redux, Axios, and Material UI.
• Experience with unit and integration testing frameworks (e.g., Jest, React Testing Library, Enzyme).
• Understanding of responsive design, accessibility, and performance optimization principles.
• Familiarity with design tools like Figma or Sketch, and the ability to translate designs into high-quality implementations.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to work independently and in a team environment.
• Excitement to work in an AI-first company and openness to experimentation frameworks (Statsig, Optimizely, GrowthBook, or similar).
• A self-starter mindset, comfortable being the first Frontend Engineer in Europe, and eager to set best practices for the team.
