About the Role
A leading AI research initiative is seeking experienced Software Engineers to collaborate on a frontier project developing robust, high-performance systems for next-generation machine learning applications. In this part-time, remote role, you’ll leverage coding agents (e.g., Codex, Claude Code, or similar) to complete realistic engineering tasks on production-grade codebases.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform complex, real-world coding tasks using AI coding agents.
- Build, debug, and refactor production-level code across Rust, JavaScript/TypeScript, or Python.
- Review and validate AI-generated code for accuracy, performance, and maintainability.
- Contribute to benchmarking efforts that measure the capabilities of AI-driven programming tools.
- Work asynchronously with researchers and engineers to improve agentic coding workflows.
Ideal Qualifications
- Fluency in Rust, JavaScript/TypeScript, or Python.
- Experience with AI-assisted coding tools like GitHub Copilot, Codex, or Claude Code.
- Proven open-source contributions or large-scale personal projects.
- Degree in Computer Science or Software Engineering from top institutions.
- Strong attention to detail with excellent debugging and problem-solving skills.
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.
- Must be based in the U.S., Canada, U.K., Australia, or New Zealand.
Role Highlights
- Part-time workload: 10–20 hours per week (extendable up to 40 hours).
- Fully remote and asynchronous schedule.
- Minimum duration: 2 weeks with potential extension based on performance.
