About the Role
A leading AI research initiative is seeking experienced Software Engineers with hands-on code agent experience to contribute to a frontier project at the intersection of AI and software development.
In this role, as a Remote Part-Time Software Engineer, you will work with cutting-edge coding agents to perform realistic programming tasks on real-world codebases, helping to enhance the performance, accuracy, and reasoning capabilities of next-generation AI systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Utilize AI coding agents (e.g., Codex, Claude Code, or equivalent) for task execution.
- Develop in one or more core languages: Rust, JavaScript/TypeScript, or Python.
- Write clean, efficient, and production-grade code.
- Review and validate AI-generated code ensuring performance and maintainability.
- Collaborate asynchronously with AI researchers and engineers to improve model accuracy.
Ideal Qualifications
- Proven experience using AI-assisted coding agents in development workflows.
- Proficiency in Rust, JavaScript/TypeScript, or Python.
- Strong contributions in open-source or personal projects on GitHub.
- Degree in Computer Science or related field from a top-tier university.
- Experience based in the U.S., U.K., Canada, Australia, or New Zealand.
Project Timeline & Compensation
Start Date: Early October (applications reviewed on a rolling basis).
Commitment: 10–20 hours/week (option to extend up to 40 hours/week) on a fully remote and asynchronous schedule.
Hourly Rate: $70–$90 USD/hour, with weekly payouts via Stripe Connect.
