About the Role

A leading AI research initiative is seeking experienced Software Engineers to collaborate on a frontier project developing robust, high-performance systems for next-generation machine learning applications. In this part-time, remote role, you’ll leverage coding agents (e.g., Codex, Claude Code, or similar) to complete realistic engineering tasks on production-grade codebases.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform complex, real-world coding tasks using AI coding agents.
  • Build, debug, and refactor production-level code across Rust, JavaScript/TypeScript, or Python.
  • Review and validate AI-generated code for accuracy, performance, and maintainability.
  • Contribute to benchmarking efforts that measure the capabilities of AI-driven programming tools.
  • Work asynchronously with researchers and engineers to improve agentic coding workflows.

Ideal Qualifications

  • Fluency in Rust, JavaScript/TypeScript, or Python.
  • Experience with AI-assisted coding tools like GitHub Copilot, Codex, or Claude Code.
  • Proven open-source contributions or large-scale personal projects.
  • Degree in Computer Science or Software Engineering from top institutions.
  • Strong attention to detail with excellent debugging and problem-solving skills.
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.
  • Must be based in the U.S., Canada, U.K., Australia, or New Zealand.
