About the Role
A leading AI research initiative is seeking experienced Software Engineers with hands-on code agent experience to contribute to a frontier project at the intersection of AI and software development. In this Software Engineer role, you will work with cutting-edge coding agents to perform realistic programming tasks on real-world codebases, enhancing the accuracy and reasoning capabilities of next-generation AI systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Use AI coding agents (e.g., Codex, Claude Code) to perform and refine coding tasks.
- Contribute in Rust, JavaScript/TypeScript, or Python across diverse codebases.
- Write clean, efficient, production-grade code.
- Review and validate AI-generated code for quality and maintainability.
- Collaborate asynchronously with AI researchers and engineers.
Ideal Qualifications
- Proven experience using AI-assisted coding agents.
- Strong proficiency in Rust, JavaScript/TypeScript, or Python.
- Contributions to open-source or strong personal projects on GitHub.
- Degree in Computer Science or related field from a top-tier university.
- Based in the U.S., U.K., Canada, Australia, or New Zealand.
- Exceptional attention to detail and analytical skills.
Project Timeline & Contract
Start Date: Early October (applications reviewed on a rolling basis). Duration: Minimum 2 weeks with potential extension. Commitment: 10–20 hours/week (option up to 40 hours/week). Fully remote and asynchronous schedule allows flexible work hours.
Compensation & Payment
Hourly Rate: $70–$90 USD, based on experience and skill. Contract Type: Independent contractor with weekly payouts via Stripe Connect.
