About the Role

Mercor is partnering with leading AI research labs to engage experienced Frontend Software Engineers for a high-impact project improving the reasoning and coding capabilities of next-generation AI systems. As a Senior Frontend Engineer, you will design, extend, and validate frontend coding benchmarks that simulate real-world software development challenges using React, TypeScript, or JavaScript.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and validate frontend coding benchmarks using React, TypeScript, or JavaScript.
  • Curate issues, solutions, and test suites from real-world repositories.
  • Ensure comprehensive unit and integration testing for each benchmark.
  • Maintain scalability, consistency, and structure across benchmark tasks.
  • Provide detailed feedback on code quality and clarity.
  • Debug, optimize, and document code to ensure reliability.

Ideal Qualifications

  • 3–10 years of experience as a frontend engineer.
  • Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field.
  • Advanced proficiency in React, TypeScript, and/or JavaScript.
  • Strong background in testing, debugging, and performance optimization.
  • Excellent technical writing, organization, and communication skills.
  • Attention to detail with a commitment to high-quality code.

Project Timeline & Compensation

Start Date: Immediate Duration: 1 month Commitment: Part-time (15–20 hours/week) Schedule: Fully remote and asynchronous (flexible working hours) Base Rate: $90/hour with additional task bonuses (median effective pay ~$200/hour)
