Job Description
Shipping and Receiving Associate
Cadrex is actively seeking a Shipping and Receiving Associate to manage comprehensive shipping and receiving responsibilities. This role ensures precise data entry, seamless material movement, and accurate product transactions both into and out of the facility.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate various equipment including forklifts (stand-up and sit-down), pallet jacks, plastic banders, and shrink wrap machines.
- Utilize a scale for accurate packaging measurements.
- Perform basic functions within Microsoft programs like Excel, Word, and Outlook.
- Efficiently identify racking locations and clearances within the warehouse.
- Sort, count, package, and label all outgoing shipments meticulously.
- Maintain the department database, ensuring easy access to necessary paperwork and documentation.
- Adhere strictly to established departmental policies, procedures, and objectives.
- Generate reports to identify items scheduled for shipment.
- Provide purchasing with relevant reports concerning outside processing shipments.
- Enter shipments for small parcel carriers such as FedEx and UPS.
- Book pickups in accordance with specific customer guidelines.
- Properly load trucks, considering weight restrictions and optimal load balancing.
- Utilize the ERP system to locate parts, receive against Purchase Orders, scan documents, complete labor on Work Orders, and run receiving-related reports.
- Verify that certifications match Bill of Lading paperwork and that all required certifications are present and scanned.
- Employ quality measuring tools, including micrometers and calipers, and contact the Quality department for maintenance and calibration.
- Conduct quality checks on materials and items, notifying the appropriate departments of any discrepancies.
- Load and unload trucks both inside and outside the facility.
- Transfer wood skids to outside receiving areas and load them onto standard trailers for pickup.
- Receive Vendor Managed Inventory (VMI) items.
- Transfer materials to appropriate skids to optimize space and minimize potential damage.
- Reject non-conforming items or materials within the system.
- Recognize different material types for accurate handling.
- Sort, verify counts, package, and label all materials and items.
- Combine similar materials and organize inventory locations to maximize space and ease of access.
- Communicate effectively with purchasing regarding any questions or discrepancies on Purchase Orders.
Requirements
Successful candidates will possess a high school diploma and demonstrate a strong attention to detail and quality in all tasks.
Preferred Qualifications
- 1+ years of relevant experience in a high-volume manufacturing setting.
- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
- Proficiency in writing simple correspondence.
- Competence in basic arithmetic (addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division) using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals.
- Ability to read and interpret prints and work orders accurately.
Education
High School Diploma is required for this position.
Location & Schedule
This is an onsite position, working Monday through Friday.

Work Environment
The work environment involves frequent exposure to moving mechanical parts and vibration. Occasional risk of electrical shock is present. Noise levels are typically moderate but can be loud at times.
Physical Demands
Regularly required to stand, sit, use hands and fingers, handle or feel, and communicate. Occasionally requires sitting, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling. Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities include close, distance, peripheral, and color vision, depth perception, and focus adjustment.

Salary Range
The compensation for this position is between $20.00-$24.00 per hour.
