Job Overview: Freelance Peer Reviewer - Orthodontics
Cactus Communications is actively seeking experienced researchers, retired academics, and former researchers to serve as freelance peer reviewers for various academic journals and publishers, specifically within the Orthodontics field. This role is critical in maintaining the integrity and quality of published research.
Please note: Successful candidates must be able to disclose their full name and affiliations to the publishers as required.
What You Need to Have
- Doctorate (PhD/MD) or an equivalent advanced degree in the subject area of Orthodontics.
- At least two publications in the last two years within your specialized field.

- Excellent analytical and critical thinking skills.
- Strong written communication skills, enabling clear, concise, and constructive feedback.

- Prior experience as a peer reviewer for academic journals is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with online manuscript submission and review systems.
What You Will Do
As a Freelance Peer Reviewer - Orthodontics, your responsibilities will include:
- Assess Novelty: Determine if the manuscript presents original work and contributes new knowledge or insights to the field of Orthodontics.
- Evaluate Study Design and Methodology: Critically assess the appropriateness, comprehensiveness, and clarity of the study design and methods to ensure reproducibility.
- Literature Review: Verify that the manuscript incorporates and accurately cites relevant, up-to-date research within the field.
- Analyse Results and Conclusions: Evaluate the clarity and appropriateness of the results' presentation, and ensure conclusions are well-supported by the data and significant.

- Recommend Publication: Your comprehensive evaluation will assist the journal editor in making informed decisions regarding manuscript acceptance, revision, or rejection.
