Cactus Communications is actively seeking researchers, retired researchers, and former researchers to join our team as freelance peer reviewers for various academic journals and publishers. This vital role involves critically assessing manuscripts across Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, and Computer Science disciplines.

Please note: Successful candidates must be able to disclose their full name and affiliations with the publishers as required.

What You Need to Have:

• Doctorate (PhD/MD) or an equivalent advanced degree in your specialized subject area (Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science).
• A minimum of two publications in the last two years within your specific field.
• A thorough understanding of research methodologies and adherence to ethical principles relevant to the discipline.
• Excellent analytical and critical thinking skills to evaluate complex research.
• Strong written communication skills, essential for providing clear, concise, and constructive feedback.
• Demonstrated ability to adhere to deadlines and manage time effectively.
• Commitment to maintaining strict confidentiality and objectivity throughout the review process.
• Prior experience as a peer reviewer for academic journals is highly desirable.
• Familiarity with online manuscript submission and review systems.

What You Will Do:

• Assess Novelty: Evaluate the originality of manuscripts and determine if they contribute new knowledge or insights to the field.
• Evaluate Study Design and Methodology: Critically assess the appropriateness, comprehensiveness, and clarity of the study design and methods to ensure reproducibility.
• Literature Review: Verify that the manuscript thoroughly incorporates and accurately cites relevant, up-to-date research.
• Analyze Results and Conclusions: Ensure results are presented clearly and appropriately, and that conclusions are well-supported by the data and significant to the field.
• Providing Constructive Feedback: Offer actionable feedback, suggesting improvements and highlighting any flaws, omissions, or ethical concerns.
• Recommend Publication: Your evaluation will guide the journal editor in making decisions regarding manuscript acceptance, revision, or rejection.
