The Internship Experience

We are actively seeking talented individuals to join our team for a Software Engineer Intern Developer Infrastructure internship in 2026. Key Responsibilities as a Software Engineer Intern Developer Infrastructure

As a Software Engineer Intern Developer Infrastructure within our team, your responsibilities will include:

• Building essential development infrastructure, such as Cloud IDE, repository and code management systems, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Developing advanced intelligent data platforms to assist client developers in making informed decisions, thereby optimizing the user experience of our products.
• Constructing ByteDance's staging environment for major applications like TikTok, Ads, and Shopping, enabling internal isolated user and traffic testing from production.
• Scaling distributed applications and fine-tuning technologies such as Kubernetes (K8S), RPC, various Databases (DB), Message Queues (MQ), KAFKA, HDFS, Hive, and Yarn.
• Designing and implementing robust monitoring and alerting systems to ensure system stability and performance.
• Conducting research and converting state-of-the-art computer engineering technologies into tangible, real-world products.

Minimum Qualifications

• Currently pursuing an Undergraduate or Master's degree in Software Development, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a closely related technical discipline.
• Ability to commit to working for 12 weeks during 2026.
• Experience working with programming languages such as Android, Java, Objective-C, Python, or Golang.
• Experience in one or more of the following areas: private or public cloud environments, backend architecture, storage systems, databases, CI/CD systems, build infrastructure, or big data technologies.

Preferred Qualifications

• Demonstrated full-stack development experience.
• Possess strong strategic thinking and excellent team collaboration skills.

Compensation & Benefits

The hourly rate range for this Software Engineer Intern Developer Infrastructure position in the selected city is $45-$60. Benefits may vary based on employment nature and country of work location. Interns receive day one access to health insurance, life insurance, and wellbeing benefits. Additionally, interns are provided 10 paid holidays per year and paid sick time (56 hours if hired in the first half of the year, 40 if hired in the second half of the year). Interns who are not working 100% remote may also be eligible for a housing allowance.
