Role Overview

The Quality Assurance Lab Technician supports plant operations by performing microbiological, physical, and chemical analysis on raw materials and food products. You will work closely with the Quality Assurance Manager and provide essential support in maintaining the highest standards of quality and safety at our Reading, Pennsylvania facility during the night shift.

Responsibilities

• Perform chemical, physical, and flavor analysis on product, ingredient, and control samples.
• Record product analyses following laboratory protocols and data entry procedures.
• Communicate critical information regarding analysis results and procedures.
• Prepare product sampling materials, maintain lab equipment and cleanliness.
• Conduct general plant QA tasks including environmental swabbing, air sampling, and safety checks.
• Cover lab responsibilities during the Quality Assurance Manager's absence and assist production with general cleaning duties.
• Follow GMP, food safety, and sanitation guidelines in compliance with federal, state, and local standards.

Skills & Qualifications

• Associates Degree preferred with 2 years’ lab experience; food manufacturing experience is a plus.
• Competency in quality, safety, and compliance functions (data entry, audits, CAPA resolutions).
• Ability to perform manual tasks such as standing, crouching, climbing, and using ladders.
• Proficient in computer usage including MS Office and laboratory software.
• Excellent written communication and adherence to GMP standards.
