Purpose Of The Role

As a Head of Regulatory Compliance, you will be responsible for leading the Canadian Regulatory Compliance efforts that affect our company. The role will report to the Director of Regulatory Compliance, who you will work with collaboratively across multiple teams within the Regulated Canada region. You will be tasked with ensuring that BV (Canada) Limited business and products are fully compliant with our regulatory obligations. Furthermore, you will be responsible for staying abreast of the regulatory requirements and developments within the jurisdiction and present commercial opportunities to the Group where appropriate. Finally, you will be responsible for proactively driving and ensuring delivery of the group’s continuous compliance efforts and regulatory projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure business compliance with all relevant regulatory codes, licence requirements and legislation.
  • Understand, monitor and review all developments within the regulatory environment, identify development needs within the business and ensure any requirements are communicated and implemented in a timely manner.
  • Document the requirements and manage regulatory projects that affect the integrity of our licence (e.g., changes in technical standards, new advertising restrictions, etc.) and ensure alignment in the project team.
  • Be one of the main points of contact with regulatory bodies and any other related competent authorities (specifically i-GO, AGCO, AiGC and AGLC), responding to queries and information requests and ensuring accurate submissions are provided.
  • Project-lead, as required, and manage both external and internal regulatory audits/compliance reviews.
  • Proactively develop internal processes in accordance with regulation and identify areas of compliance improvement.
  • Respond to consultations and steering group requests issued by regulatory bodies to promote legislation that is in-line with BVGroup’s business strategy.
  • Establish internal processes, KPIs, dip-sampling and verification of customer-facing products and marketing to ensure they remain compliant.

Skills & Experience

  • Strong experience in regulatory compliance and a proven track record of working with remote gaming companies and/or remote gaming regulatory authorities and governing bodies.
  • Ability to understand and interpret both primary and secondary legislation and its impact on the industry.
  • Fully understands the concepts of AML/SG/DP, and other corporate and compliance-related rules and regulations.
  • Relevant legal, internal audit or compliance qualifications; ICA certificate/diploma (or equivalent) is an advantage.
  • Foundational understanding of business information systems and internet technology as it applies to the online gaming sector. Passion to use information systems to scale processes and operations.
  • Excellent English oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to rapidly adapt and respond to changes in environment and priorities.
  • A self-driven, curious character eager to make an impact by making things happen and not afraid to roll their sleeves up.
