Join the BuzzFeed College Creator Lab: Summer 2026
What this is:
A paid summer creator program for college students who want to make content for the internet that millions of people actually see. You'll create BuzzFeed posts using AI-powered tools, work alongside our editorial team, and earn money for every piece you publish. This isn't an internship where you’re fetching coffee or refilling the printer — it's a real byline, real pay, and real editorial/marketing experience.
What you'll do:
You'll use BuzzFeed's AI content tools to pitch, create, and publish posts across quizzes, lists, and trending content. Every post you publish that makes it through our editorial process earns you money (up to $600/week). Outside of the first-week onboarding, you set your own schedule — work when and where you want, and get paid for what you make. You'll also have access to BuzzFeed's New York or Los Angeles office for optional brainstorms, editorial workshops, and events with our team throughout the summer.
What You'll Get
- Published work under your own byline on one of the internet's most recognizable brands
- Payment for posts published (up to $600/week)
- Optional access to BuzzFeed's NYC or LA office and in-person programming
- Hands-on experience with AI content creation tools
- Editorial feedback from BuzzFeed editors
- A community of other BuzzFeed College Creators
Who You Are
- Currently enrolled in an accredited college or university (rising sophomores through seniors)
- Comfortable using AI tools (ChatGPT, Claude, etc.) or excited to learn
- Chronically online in a good way — you understand what makes people click, share, and engage
- Self-motivated; nobody's going to chase you to hit a quota, but the opportunity is there if you want it
- Available for the summer program window (roughly June–August 2026)
Big plus: You're comfortable on camera, have experience creating video or social content, and/or have an existing social media presence. We're always looking for creators who can bring ideas to life across platforms.
Requirements
- Must provide your own laptop/computer and high-speed internet access.
- Must be available for the full first week of June for mandatory program onboarding and tool training. The onboarding week is paid and in-person in either the New York or Los Angeles office.
- Create a BuzzFeed.com/community profile, and create 1-2 posts (articles, lists or quizzes) that reflect your voice and interests. You’ll be asked to provide the links to your posts when you complete the application. SO, PLEASE SUBMIT YOUR COMMUNITY POSTS PRIOR TO COMPLETING THIS APPLICATION! We encourage you to check our Trending page to see examples of posts that reflect what we’re looking for, and to take note of the variety of topics and formats.
This is NOT an internship. You won't get course credit, and there are no set hours. You're a BuzzFeed contributor who also gets mentorship, community, and office access. Think of it as a creative residency with a paycheck.
To apply: Submit your application with a valid .edu email address. You'll be asked to provide proof of current enrollment (student ID, enrollment verification letter, or current class schedule).
