Overview
Butterfield & Robinson, one of the world’s leading travel companies, is hiring a talented Mechanic / Operations Equipment & Ancillaries Coordinator to join our European Operations Team in Italy. This role is responsible for maintaining the highest possible quality in the execution of our trips with respect to all bikes, vans and other equipment.
Main Responsibilities
- Ensure every European trip has the necessary technical equipment and support.
- Support Euro Ops/Tech Ops systems and manage bike inventory.
- Assemble, clean, tune, repair, and prep bikes, GPS devices, and other equipment.
- Manage and maintain equipment inventory and collaborate with the Technical Operations team.
- Design and improve atelier equipment systems such as trip vans, bike racking, and storage options.
- Support inventories for technical equipment and ancillaries for European departures.
- Coordinate daily check-outs and check-ins for trip materials and van usage.
- Deliver bikes, ebikes, and equipment to various regions.
- Track and report bike inventory and maintain a clean, organized atelier.
- Provide technical training and equipment support to contractors.
- Review equipment standards and communicate issues to the Technical Operations team.
- Act as an Ambassador for Butterfield & Robinson, fostering the company spirit at the Arezzo office.
- Maintain open communication with Independent Contractors and share feedback appropriately.
Qualifications & Skills
The ideal candidate will have experience in an administrative/office environment and/or as a Bike Mechanic. A valid driver’s licence, proficiency with MS Office (MS Word, Excel, Outlook, CRM), and fluency in both English and Italian are required. General knowledge of tour operations and the travel industry is an asset. Key personal qualities include excellent communication, meticulous organization, attention to detail, independence, and a professional attitude.
