About the role
Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Systems Engineer specializing in IT infrastructure and communications networks with a strong background in airport systems and operations. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, implementing, maintaining, and optimizing mission‑critical IT and communication systems that support airport operational efficiency, safety, and regulatory compliance. This role requires hands-on technical expertise, strong problem‑solving skills, and a deep understanding of airport technology environments.
Key Responsibilities
IT Infrastructure & Systems Engineering
- Design, deploy, and maintain IT systems supporting airport operations (e.g., servers, storage, virtualization platforms, backup systems).
- Implement system upgrades, patches, and security configurations to ensure high availability and performance.
- Troubleshoot complex issues across multi‑vendor environments and provide Level 2/3 technical support.
- Conduct capacity planning and continuous performance monitoring for mission-critical systems.
Airport Technology & Operational Systems
- Manage, support, and integrate key airport systems such as: AODB (Airport Operational Database), FIDS (Flight Information Display System), CUTE/CUPPS (Common Use Terminal Equipment / Passenger Processing Systems), BHS (Baggage Handling Systems) IT interfaces, CCTV, Access Control, and Airport Security Systems.
- Ensure system reliability, redundancy, and compliance with aviation standards (ICAO, IATA).
Communications Network Engineering
- Configure and maintain airport-wide communication infrastructure including: LAN/WAN networks, Wireless systems, IP telephony, Fiber backbone networks, Radio communications systems.
- Conduct network performance analysis, traffic monitoring, and security hardening.
Project Implementation & Vendor Coordination
- Lead IT and communications projects from planning to commissioning.
- Coordinate with vendors, contractors, airport authorities, and airlines for system deployments and enhancements.
- Prepare system documentation, technical reports, network diagrams, and SOPs.
Cybersecurity & Compliance
- Implement and enforce cybersecurity best practices aligned with airport guidelines.
- Ensure compliance with aviation regulations, data protection standards, and safety protocols.
- Conduct regular system audits, vulnerability assessments, and risk mitigation strategies.
Qualifications
Education
Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Engineering, Electronics & Communications Engineering, or related field.
Experience
- 5–12 years of experience as a Systems Engineer, Network Engineer, or IT Infrastructure Engineer.
- Must have hands-on experience working in airport operations, aviation IT systems, or airport infrastructure projects.
