Overview
The Software Engineering Professional supports BT Group's software engineering strategy and roadmap by developing cloud native applications and collaborating in cross-functional squads. This role is instrumental in delivering technical solutions, integrating systems, and continuously improving software engineering practices.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Implement technical solutions for customers and internal teams.
- Participate in architecture decisions for high-performance products and platforms.
- Design and develop software solutions following architecture and security standards.
- Write, test, and review code under guidance, ensuring quality delivery.
- Integrate existing software products and maintain system functionality.
- Support continuous delivery and developer productivity with automation.
- Engage with security and compliance teams to ensure product readiness.
- Contribute to technical reviews, process improvements, and metrics implementation.
Additional Responsibilities
This position also involves helping design technical specifications and supporting less complex initiatives, while also sharing expertise in cloud native architectures and agile methodologies. You will collaborate with stakeholders while advocating for software engineering excellence and cloud-first approaches.
Skills & Experience
- Understanding of HR functions and related legislative impacts.
- Experience across a service delivery value chain and SaaS solutions.
- Strong organizational, documentation, and communication skills.
- Experience in requirements gathering, system development and testing.
- Knowledge of XML, GUI configuration, ticketing, and agile methodologies.
