Job Overview
The WordPress Technical Support Analyst role is a permanent work-from-home position for an Independent Contractor. The analyst will manage a growing portfolio of WordPress websites while ensuring site performance, security, and SEO best practices are maintained. This position offers flexibility with a 40-hour work week (client business hours follow US Central) and immediate hiring.
Key Responsibilities
WordPress Site Management: Perform regular core, plugin, and theme updates across multiple client sites; monitor site health; troubleshoot technical issues; ensure active backups and tested recovery procedures.
Performance & Optimization: Conduct speed tests using tools like GTmetrix and PageSpeed Insights; review caching configurations; implement performance improvements; monitor Core Web Vitals.
Security & Maintenance: Support WAF rule configuration on Cloudflare and similar services; perform security audits; monitor security logs; update security plugins.
SEO & Site Structure: Audit for proper SEO structure including meta tags, schema markup, and XML sitemaps; fix crawl errors and broken links; support technical SEO requirements.
Documentation & Process Improvement: Create detailed documentation and SOPs; build internal knowledge base articles; identify opportunities for automation.
Requirements
2-4 years of hands-on WordPress management experience, strong understanding of WordPress architecture, themes, and plugins, experience with caching plugins and performance optimization, familiarity with Cloudflare or similar CDN/WAF services, and a basic understanding of SEO principles. Excellent written communication skills and the ability to work independently managing multiple client sites.
Preferred Qualifications: Experience with MainWP or similar tools, basic HTML, CSS, PHP knowledge, familiarity with hosting environments (cPanel, staging sites), experience with page builders (Elementor, Kadence) and understanding of Google Tag Manager, Analytics, and Search Console.
