Job Overview
Our client is seeking a sharp, organized Procurement & Supply Chain Specialist to manage and optimize their supply chain operations. In this role, you will be responsible for sourcing raw materials, parts, and equipment necessary for their architectural metal manufacturing and roll-forming technology. Your focus will be on maintaining inventory levels, negotiating with vendors, and ensuring cost-effective, timely delivery of goods to keep their production lines moving smoothly.
Schedule: Flexible during client business hours [CA, US Time] (20-25 hours per week)
Responsibilities
- Sourcing & Purchasing: Research, evaluate, and purchase raw materials (steel, aluminum, coatings), machinery parts, and warehouse supplies based on production needs.
- Vendor Management: Maintain relationships with current suppliers, negotiate pricing and delivery terms, and evaluate vendor performance regarding quality and timelines.
- Inventory Control: Monitor inventory levels to prevent shortages or overstocking, and coordinate with the production team to forecast future material needs.
- Order Tracking & Documentation: Issue purchase orders (POs), track shipments to ensure on-time delivery, and resolve any discrepancies with invoices or damaged goods.
Requirements
- Industry Experience: 2–4 years of experience in procurement, purchasing, or supply chain management, preferably in a manufacturing or heavy industry setting.
- Core Skills: Strong negotiation, cost analysis, and relationship-building skills.
- Software Proficiency: Experience using ERP/MRP software or inventory management systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite) and Microsoft Excel.
- Professional Attributes: Highly organized, excellent problem-solver, and able to multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment.
