Position Summary

The Investment Risk Team is currently seeking an Investment Risk Analyst to work in our New York office. The Investment Risk team is a data-driven group that uses analytical methods to assess investment risks across the firm, including client assets and firm strategies. In addition, the team works collaboratively with equity and fixed income investment teams during the investment process to assess investment risk through a variety of risk analytics. The team is seeking an Analyst who will support various aspects of day-to-day, ad-hoc analysis, strategic projects, and enhance analytic methods. This position is an exciting new role on a growing team within a global independent investment management and strategic advisory firm.

Duties of this position include, but not limited to:

  • Monitor and identify investments risk across assets classes including equities, fixed income, hedge funds, private equity, and real estate.
  • Develop automated/scalable solutions to facilitate investment risk oversight.
  • Analyze and process large data sets to identify trends and significant changes in investment risks.
  • Prepare materials and presentations for firm leadership and the Investment Risk team.
  • Assist in developing investment risk dashboards utilizing Bloomberg, Snowflake, Python, and Tableau.
  • Collaborate and discuss investment risk analysis with portfolio managers and other investment professionals across the firm.
  • Support implementation of strategic roadmap initiatives, which include tech identification, reporting enhancements, and data integrations.
  • Conduct ad hoc analysis to evaluate investment risks associated with specific market events and effectively communicate findings to investment teams and firm leadership
  • Support team members through active mentorship and sharing investment/market knowledge.
  • Respond to client specific investment risk related requests.

Job requirements Include:

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • 1-4 years of experience required
  • Work toward advanced education, MBA, CFA, or other relevant designation preferred
  • Prior experience in assessing investment risk or investment decision making required
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Working knowledge of Bloomberg PORT preferred
  • Experience in programming languages (VBA, R, Python, etc.) preferred
  • Strong experience in visualization software, like Tableau
  • Excellent understanding of financial markets and products, including Alternatives preferred
  • Strong analytical skills, including market data analytics
  • Experience with financial modeling
  • Highly organized and detail oriented
  • Must excel at working independently as well as part of a team
  • Ability to adapt, prioritize, and execute in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
  • Possess a high level of personal integrity
  • Ability to work in our New York office location five days a week

NY Salary Range: $90-$140k. Commensurate with experience and location. Does not include bonus or long term incentive eligibility (if applicable).
