Overview

The Manager, Inbound Operations at Brooklinen will own the First Mile strategy with responsibility for the financial, operational, and people aspects of global inbound logistics. This role manages end-to-end inbound freight including vendor partnerships, customs compliance, and budget oversight to ensure an efficient, compliant, and scalable flow of goods into the supply chain.

What You’ll Do

Strategic Leadership & Process Ownership: Lead daily inbound logistics operations focusing on efficiency, scalability, and compliance. Develop strategies balancing cost, speed, and service. Champion process improvements to streamline workflows and reduce costs.

Data-Driven Decision Making: Ensure data accuracy and reporting using systems like NetSuite. Deliver actionable KPIs and insights on costs, transit times, and performance to drive improvements.

Vendor and Stakeholder Management: Build and manage global freight forwarder relationships. Run RFPs and QBRs, ensuring accountability and cost competitiveness while aligning with cross-functional teams.

Customs Compliance & Operational Excellence: Oversee customs compliance and tariff assessments to reduce risk. Collaborate with 3PLs and maintain inbound forecasts to address constraints proactively.

People Management & Associate Development: Manage and mentor junior associates with clear goals and KPIs. Foster career growth aligned with Brooklinen’s competencies.

Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with Planning, Sourcing, and Product Development to integrate inbound operations and support strategic supply chain initiatives.

Financial & Cost Ownership: Oversee inbound freight budget, forecasting, and reporting. Monitor spending, communicate drivers, and implement corrective actions during P&L reviews.

Industry & Market Intelligence: Stay updated on logistics trends and support supply chain initiatives from Operations leadership.

What You’ll Bring

3–5 years of progressive experience in supply chain, global logistics, or operations with at least 1 year of management experience. Hands-on experience in inbound freight management including budgeting, variance tracking, and cost reporting is required. Strong vendor management skills, project management abilities, and familiarity with customs compliance are essential. Excellent communication, presentation skills, and a continuous improvement mindset are expected.

Compensation & Benefits

The salary for this role ranges between $85K and $90K, backed by a competitive total compensation package.
