The Role: Heathrow Policy Manager
Are you passionate about people and driven to deliver consistent, robust, and effective people policies for Heathrow? As a Heathrow Policy Manager, you will act as a key partner, maintaining strong relationships with stakeholders and Trade Union representatives. You will coach and mentor a team of Standards and Policy Partners, and collaborate on the creation and maintenance of policy-related systems and trackers, ensuring compliance with GDPR requirements. This role also involves deputising for the Senior People Support Manager, contributing to strategic policy projects, supporting recruitment activities, providing operational support during disruption, and serving as an escalation point for Trade Unions (TU) and Heathrow Leadership Team (HLT), demonstrating inspiring leadership to drive business priorities.
What You’ll Do
- Apply excellent attention to detail and sound judgment in formal stage processes, up to and including final appeals.
- Empower, mentor, and develop a team of Standards and Policy Partners, sharing best practices to foster their growth.

You will be an ambassador for the British Airways brand, behaviours, and values, upholding them to the highest standards. Your leadership and strong collaboration skills will be crucial in championing key relationships both internal and external to the Heathrow directorate. The ability to build key relationships with collaborators quickly is essential.
Your Experience
- Experience in managing complex conduct cases up to and including final appeals.
- Proven experience in absence management, particularly long-term sickness.
- Experience supporting and guiding managers through various policies and processes.
- Familiarity and experience with Industrial Relations and Trade Unions.
- Ability to thrive in a pressurised environment, demonstrating excellent time management and organizational skills to meet deadlines.
- A digital mindset.
- A genuine passion for people.
- Excellent knowledge of British Airways policies, including both the Employment Guide and Our Colleague Guide.
