About the Role

Braintrust is seeking a passionate, curious, and detail-oriented UX Researcher. In this role, you will lead qualitative and quantitative research to uncover user needs, behaviors, and motivations, translating those insights into actionable recommendations to inform product design, strategy, and roadmap decisions.

A major focus is on planning and running usability studies that evaluate concepts, prototypes, and in-market experiences to identify friction points and uncover opportunities for product improvement. You will collaborate with designers, product managers, engineers, and business stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and execute a range of user research initiatives including usability studies.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define research questions and test plans.
  • Create test scripts, recruit participants, and lead sessions remotely or in-person.
  • Translate qualitative and quantitative feedback into clear product design improvements.
  • Synthesize findings into actionable insights with detailed usability reports.
  • Present research findings and strategic recommendations to internal and client teams.
  • Design and execute additional research methods such as interviews, field studies, and surveys.
  • Advocate for usability and accessibility throughout the design and development process.

Qualifications

Must-Haves: 3–5+ years in UX research, expertise in various qualitative and quantitative methods, strong storytelling and communication skills, ability to translate complex findings, and experience in multidisciplinary team environments. Proficiency in design thinking, human-centered design, and agile methodologies is required along with knowledge of tools like Dscout, UserTesting, Optimal Workshop, Dovetail, Maze, and Airtable.

Nice-to-Haves: Agency experience or similar fast-paced environment, B2B research experience, familiarity with accessibility standards and inclusive design, background in psychology, anthropology, or HCI, and familiarity with product analytics platforms such as Amplitude, Mixpanel, or GA4.
