Job Details

Part-Time Structural Engineer

What you'll be working on:

  • Designing light framed wood residential and commercial structures
  • Designing deep foundation elements such as helical anchors and micropiles
  • Designing PEMB foundations and mechanical foundations
  • Reviewing building plans and specifications
  • Hours will vary per project

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and deliver project technical documents, specifications, and design calculations
  • Ensure designs meet all relevant building codes and standards
  • Coordinate drawing development or provide design drawings for permit submittal
  • Perform project and construction administration including responding to RFIs and reviewing shop drawing submittals

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field
  • Professional Engineering (PE) license, preferably in Oregon
  • 5+ years of experience in structural design of residential and light commercial buildings
  • Knowledge of standard building materials like wood, concrete, steel, and masonry
  • Ability to work independently
