As a Freelance Remote Mathematics Expert, you will provide expert feedback to help AI models produce accurate, logical, and clearly explained answers. Your responsibilities include assessing solutions for accuracy, clarity, and adherence to prompts; identifying errors in calculations, methodology, or conceptual understanding; fact-checking quantitative information; writing high-quality mathematical explanations and model solutions; and rating/comparing multiple AI responses based on mathematical correctness and reasoning quality.

Compensation for this role is competitive and varies based on your education level, institution, and prior experience.
Hiring Profile
- You hold (or are pursuing) a BS, MS, or PhD in Math/Stats or a related field.
- Expert at fact-checking information using public sources across multiple domains.
- Ability to communicate mathematics clearly and translate advanced theory into real-world solutions.
- English proficiency C1 and above with excellent writing skills.
- A background in research, analytical writing, debate, programming, or mathematics is preferred.
- Bonus: Experience in data labeling, RLHF (Reinforcement Learning from Human Feedback), or AI model evaluation.
Application & Onboarding Process
The application process involves a few steps:
- Apply via partner site; Braintrust will send detailed instructions.
- Qualification Exam (1–2 hours): Evaluates role-specific expertise. Compensation provided upon passing.
- Project Exam (1–2 hours): Evaluates adherence to project guidelines and ability to produce math-specific deliverables. Compensation provided upon passing.
Commitment
A minimum commitment of 17–20 hours per week is expected. However, considering project scope and timelines, a preferred and recommended commitment is 8 hours/day.
