The Insights Company’s mission is to enable every company to deeply understand its users and build for their needs – reinventing how products are built and the $80B+ market research industry. Our first product, Persona, is an AI qualitative researcher that talks to customers and generates insights. Persona is already being used by builders at some of the biggest product-led brands in the world. We have an ambitious roadmap that goes far beyond this – and we’re now excited to expand our team.

We’re looking for a Founding Designer. You’ll be joining the team best positioned to win this market – we’re former founding team members and senior leaders from some of the highest-growth consumer brands of the past decade, including Lyft and You.com.

About You

You’re a strong product designer who wants real ownership and is excited to build from zero to one.

You have strong views on the craft of building products, and you’re excited to shape its future alongside a design-focused team. You’ll be building a product that can be used by designers like yourself, alongside researchers, product managers and marketers.

You’re motivated by turning complex systems into intuitive, beautiful user experiences.

You thrive in high-agency, fast-moving environments. You’re comfortable making decisions with incomplete information and iterating quickly based on real user feedback.

You have strong product instincts and a systems mindset: you think deeply about flows, states, edge cases, and how to make complex tools feel simple to users. You optimize for clarity, usability, and speed to value.

You communicate clearly, collaborate closely with engineers and founders, and value kindness, humility, and direct feedback. You’re energized by being in the room with the team and shaping the product together.

You likely have:

• 5+ years of product design experience on intuitive products at a product-led company (consumer, B2B, AI products, or marketplaces are a plus)
• Shipped and iterated on production products end-to-end
• Deep experience with Figma, which is where we primarily work (design systems, prototyping, refinement, collaboration)
• Experience designing B2B workflows, dashboards, and multi-step setup flows
• Comfort working closely with engineers on implementation details
• A strong portfolio showing product thinking, not just visual design

Key Responsibilities

• Own product design end-to-end for core experiences across the product: from early concepts and flows to polished, production-ready designs
• Work closely with founders and engineers to define product direction and make fast, high-quality decisions
• Create and maintain a design system that scales as the product and team grow
• Translate complex AI and research concepts into intuitive, approachable user experiences
• Iterate quickly based on user feedback, internal usage, and real customer needs
• Raise the bar for craft, usability, and clarity across the entire product
