About The Team

The Performance Marketing team at Etsy is dedicated to converting new buyers and encouraging existing buyers to shop more frequently across the Etsy website and apps. This team oversees Global strategy and execution across various demand capture and demand generation channels, striving to deliver measurable results.

About The Role

As a Digital Marketing Specialist, you will be crucial in managing aspects of Etsy’s Global SEM program. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Overseeing day-to-day management of portions of Etsy’s Global SEM program, optimizing campaigns to strict performance goals.
  • Focusing on campaign development, testing, learning, bid strategies, targeting, and optimization to GMS and revenue.
  • Effectively managing external agencies and technologies to achieve rigorous ROI goals, maximizing service offerings, and identifying tactical areas for opportunity.
  • Delivering comprehensive reporting, insights, and forecasts that accurately measure channel performance on a daily through annual basis.
  • Collaborating with internal, cross-functional partners, such as the marketing analytics team for advanced test analyses and engineering for data integrations, to strengthen the SEM program.
  • Staying current with the always-evolving digital marketing landscape, including industry news and emerging technology.

This role may encompass other tasks and your duties may change over time at Etsy's discretion or as applicable with local law.

Requirements

To succeed as a Digital Marketing Specialist, you should possess:

  • 2-4 years of demonstrated success managing all aspects of large-scale PLA and/or SEM campaigns, optimized to specific ROI goals, with experience in e-commerce/retail.
  • Deep familiarity with Google Ads, a bid management tool (e.g., Kenshoo/Skai, Search Ads 360), and data platforms such as Looker, Tableau, Google, or Adobe Analytics.
  • The ability to assess and clearly communicate key optimization opportunities.
  • A process-driven approach, continuously seeking to minimize waste and address inefficiencies.
  • Strong critical thinking skills coupled with a bias towards action, enabling you to anticipate and navigate the constantly changing marketing landscape.
  • A collaborative spirit, capable of building positive relationships across the company and driving decision-making.

Nice-to-Haves

  • SQL experience, specifically translating raw data into insights to guide campaign optimization decisions, is a plus.

Work Details & Expectations

  • This role will support the team during an admin's leave.
  • The role expects orientation around US east coast working hours (9am - 5pm ET).
  • Specific tools required include strong knowledge of Google Ads and Microsoft Advertising platforms, Google Ads Editor, Microsoft Excel, and Google Sheets.
  • This role is unlikely to extend or convert to a permanent position.
