Data Generalist

About the Role

Braintrust is seeking a senior, part-time Data Generalist for a 4-month contract (March–June) with potential extension. This remote role in North America requires approximately 15 hours per week and is ideal for an autonomous engineer skilled in analytics, data engineering, and MarTech.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and optimize data pipelines and analytics solutions on Google Cloud Platform.
• Develop and optimize BigQuery datasets with partitioning, clustering, and query optimization.
• Build and maintain ETL/ELT pipelines using Python, SQL, Fivetran, and dbt.
• Develop custom APIs using Cloud Functions or Cloud Run and implement event-driven architectures.
• Apply IAM and security best practices in HIPAA-compliant environments.
• Support marketing data use cases including attribution, Google Ads, Meta Ads, and API integrations.
• Collaborate with the Martech Architect to translate business into scalable technical solutions.
• Communicate technical concepts clearly with internal teams and clients.

Requirements

• Expertise in Google Cloud Platform (BigQuery, Cloud Functions/Run, Pub/Sub, Cloud Composer/Workflows).
• Strong background in data engineering (Python, Advanced SQL, ETL/ELT, data modeling).
• Familiarity with dbt, data clean rooms, and monitoring tools like Datadog.
• Experience in healthcare and/or marketing technology (HIPAA, PHI/PII, marketing attribution).
• Hands-on experience with Fivetran, Git, Terraform, and analytics platforms such as Tableau or Looker.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work independently.
