Overview
Braintrust is seeking a senior, part-time Data Generalist for a 4-month remote contract supporting analytics, data engineering, and MarTech initiatives. This role is ideal for an autonomous engineer who thrives in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision.
Responsibilities
- Design, build, and optimize data pipelines and analytics solutions on Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
- Develop and optimize BigQuery datasets with partitioning, clustering, and query optimization.
- Build and maintain ETL/ELT pipelines using Python, SQL, Fivetran, and dbt.
- Develop and support custom APIs using Cloud Functions or Cloud Run.
- Implement event-driven architectures via Pub/Sub and orchestration tools such as Cloud Composer or Cloud Workflows.
- Apply IAM and security best practices, especially handling PHI/PII in HIPAA-compliant settings.
- Support marketing data use cases including attribution, Google Ads, Meta Ads, and API integrations.
- Collaborate with the Martech Architect to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
- Communicate technical concepts clearly with internal teams and clients.
Requirements
The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in GCP (BigQuery, Cloud Functions/Run, Pub/Sub, Cloud Composer/Workflows) coupled with a robust background in data engineering. Proficiency in Python, advanced SQL, ETL/ELT pipeline design, and data modeling is essential. Familiarity with tools such as dbt, Fivetran, Git, Terraform, and monitoring solutions (Datadog, Cloud Monitoring) is highly valued. Experience with HIPAA and handling sensitive data, along with a working knowledge of marketing attribution and API integrations, is required. Strong written and verbal communication skills and ability to work independently are crucial.
