Data Generalist

About the Role

The Data Generalist role at Braintrust is a senior, part-time position focused on analytics, data engineering, and MarTech initiatives over a 4-month contract (March–June) with potential extension. This remote role is ideal for an autonomous engineer comfortable with fast-paced, client-facing interactions.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and optimize data pipelines and analytics solutions on Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
• Develop and optimize BigQuery datasets using partitioning, clustering, and query optimization.
• Build and maintain ETL/ELT pipelines using Python, SQL, Fivetran, and dbt.
• Develop and support custom APIs using Cloud Functions or Cloud Run.
• Implement event-driven architectures using Pub/Sub and orchestration tools like Airflow or Cloud Workflows.
• Apply IAM and security best practices in HIPAA-compliant environments.
• Support marketing data use cases such as attribution and API integrations.
• Collaborate with the Martech Architect to translate requirements into scalable solutions.
• Communicate clearly with both internal teams and clients.

Requirements

Must-Have: Expertise in GCP (BigQuery, Cloud Functions/Run, Pub/Sub, IAM, Cloud Composer/Workflows), strong data engineering skills (Python, Advanced SQL, ETL/ELT design, data modeling), familiarity with dbt and data clean rooms, and experience in healthcare or marketing technology.

Nice-to-Have: Experience with LiveRamp/IQVIA, healthcare data background, and backend development using JavaScript/TypeScript.
