About The Role

The Business Operations Analyst Cloud FinOps role is a contractor position focused on developing, maintaining, and enhancing data infrastructure with an emphasis on cost efficiency and platform reliability in cloud environments.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze infrastructure requirements to understand architecture and functionality.
  • Collaborate with data engineers to develop data strategies.
  • Design, build, test, and optimize data infrastructure for performance and reliability.
  • Support, maintain, and enhance Apache Spark and Airflow platforms.
  • Implement infrastructure-as-code and monitoring solutions.
  • Communicate progress, challenges, and timelines with stakeholders.

Role Summary

This role is ideal for a highly skilled Spark/Airflow Platform Engineer with a background in big data technologies, who can troubleshoot, enhance, and maintain scalable cloud infrastructure. The candidate will work closely with software and data engineers and will be responsible for day-to-day platform support and strategic enhancements.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field.
  • 5+ years in a data or platform engineering role.
  • Expertise in Scala, Apache Spark, and Google Cloud Platform.
  • Experience with Apache Airflow scheduling and Google BigQuery.
  • Strong problem-solving and communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Fluency in Python and Pyspark.
  • Experience with Dataflow, Prometheus, Grafana, CI/CD pipelines, and DevOps practices.
  • Background in both SQL and NoSQL databases.
  • Contributions to open-source big data projects.
