Position Overview
The Manual QA Engineer role in Lisbon is designed for professionals eager to relocate to Portugal. You will play a crucial role in ensuring the delivery of high-quality, reliable systems by conducting thorough manual testing of our web applications. This position is on-site in the Lisbon Metropolitan area.
Your Mission
Ensure every release delivers the best possible user experience by testing exhaustively, capturing issues early, and collaborating with engineering teams.
Responsibilities
- Perform manual testing of web applications for functionality, usability, and performance.
- Define test scope, develop test plans, and write detailed test cases.
- Log, track, and verify defects in bug tracking systems like JIRA.
- Collaborate with developers and team leads to clarify requirements and troubleshoot issues.
- Maintain up-to-date testing documentation and contribute to process improvements.
Requirements
- 3+ years of hands-on experience in QA testing web or mobile applications.
- Solid understanding of SDLC, testing processes, and industry standards.
- Experience testing web-based applications with a strong focus on quality.
- Ability to define test scope, create effective test strategies and detailed plans.
- Proficiency with JIRA or similar bug tracking tools.
- Working knowledge of API testing, REST, JSON, and SQL for data validation.
- Excellent attention to detail and analytical thinking within Agile and Scrum environments.
- Strong English communication skills (B2+ or Advanced).
Nice to Have
- Experience with test automation tools such as Selenium, Cypress, or Playwright.
- Familiarity with Git, CI/CD pipelines and cloud-based environments.
- Exposure to mobile testing, microservices, or performance testing.
- Passion for continuous quality improvement and metrics-driven development.
