About the role

BrainRocket is looking for a dedicated Data Protection Officer to join their growing compliance team. This role is on-site and requires relocation to Valencia, Spain. The ideal candidate will have working experience in data protection queries within a compliance environment and, preferably, in the iGaming industry.

Responsibilities

  • Act as a Data Protection Officer, liaising with authorities, third parties, and customers on compliance matters.
  • Serve as a point of contact for staff, regulators, and public authorities regarding data protection.
  • Manage policies to ensure compliance with GDPR and other codes of practice.
  • Assess and rectify non-compliance in the data protection framework.
  • Collaborate with IT for data retention, breaches, and reporting.
  • Conduct risk assessments, DPIAs, and review DPAs.
  • Ensure data compliance for customer and employee data, including access and deletion requests.
  • Analyse local and cross-border data transfer regulations.
  • Conduct audits and manage Data Processing Inventory.
  • Stay updated on compliance requirements and support market expansion efforts.
  • Deliver compliance and data protection training to staff.
  • Assist in ongoing compliance projects.

Who you are

The ideal candidate possesses 2-3 years of experience as a DPO, with a strong advantage for candidates with iGaming experience. You are self-driven, efficient, organised, and have excellent interpersonal skills. Fluency in written and oral English is required. Additional knowledge of Jira/Confluence and extra language skills (Swedish, Danish, Spanish, or Portuguese) is a plus.
