Role Overview
As a Senior Project Engineer – R&D Instruments in the R&D Instruments Division, you will join an international, multidisciplinary team. You will support ongoing development projects and ensure our medical devices remain ahead of the competition, impacting daily work in hospitals worldwide.
Key Responsibilities
- Handle project engineering tasks with focus on Cranial/ENT & CMF Instruments.
- Collaborate with Product Management, Surgeons, and Technical Experts in requirements engineering.
- Coordinate internal and external product development activities.
- Define and review technical concepts, prototype setups, and qualification tests.
- Create comprehensive medical device documentation including risk management and clinical documentation.
- Communicate with R&D, manufacturers, and cross-functional teams (QM, QA, Usability, Purchasing, Legal).
- Own expert competency within the team and manage small projects.
Qualifications
- An engineering degree in biomechatronic, mechanical, biomedical or related fields, or equivalent experience.
- Minimum 3 years of relevant project engineering experience.
- Experience with technical documentation for medical devices under MDR, MDD and/or FDA.
- Fluency in written and spoken English; German is a plus.
- Experience with sterile goods or medical electrical devices is an advantage.
