About The AI Product Engineer Role

As an AI Product Engineer at Brain Co., you will be central to building and deploying state-of-the-art software solutions that automate various real-world problems. This involves working directly with customers to define product specifications and build solutions from the ground up. You will be responsible for designing robust front-end interfaces and developing scalable back-end systems, transforming research breakthroughs into practical applications for various nation states. This position offers a unique opportunity to significantly impact by making AI technology both accessible and influential.

In This Role, You Will

• Innovate and Deploy: Design, develop, and deploy advanced software solutions that integrate AI to address complex, manual processes in government and industrial sectors. Utilize modern web frameworks, microservices architecture, and cloud computing to build applications for intricate optimization challenges.
• Make a Big Impact: Engage directly with key customer stakeholders to implement pioneering AI solutions. Collaborate with experienced ex-founders, government officials, AI researchers, and engineers. Understand complex business challenges and deliver AI-powered software. This dynamic team fosters free idea exchange and creativity, requiring you to wear many hats, including software development, product management, sales, and interpersonal skills.
• Optimize and Scale: Build scalable data pipelines, integrate industrial sensor networks, optimize application performance and reliability, and prepare systems for production. Projects may include optimizing advanced energy production systems, modernizing core government workflows, or improving patient outcomes in public healthcare systems.
• Learn and Lead: Stay updated on the latest developments in software engineering and AI. Participate in code reviews, share knowledge, and exemplify high-quality engineering practices. Mentor junior engineers and lead by example.
• Make a Difference: Monitor and maintain deployed applications to ensure continuous value delivery across governments worldwide. Work directly with customer engineers and subject matter experts (SMEs) to develop and tune applications, optimizing workflows and delivering tangible benefits. Your efforts will directly enhance how AI benefits individuals, businesses, and society.

You Might Thrive In This Role If You

• Are eager to travel globally to customer locations for 6+ months and work directly with SMEs and end-users.
• Possess a minimum of 2+ years of experience and a strong desire to work directly with customers to develop software specifications and build from scratch.
• Have experience with front-end and back-end technologies, microservices, and cloud platforms.
• Are proficient with modern web tooling such as React, Typescript, RESTful APIs, and database management systems.
• Exhibit excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with a proactive approach to challenges.
• Enjoy working collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
• Thrive in fast-paced environments with competing priorities or deadlines.
• Are eager to own problems end-to-end and willing to acquire any necessary knowledge to achieve results.

Nice To Have

• Experience working on on-site engineering projects or in client-facing roles (e.g., Forward-Deployed Engineer, Solutions Engineer, Integration Engineer, Sales Engineer, Customer Engineer).
• Knowledge of Arabic or other regional languages.
• A strong foundation in software design principles, data structures, and algorithms.
• A Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
