Carbon Sustainability Subject Matter Expert

This role at bp involves developing and delivering sustainability plans in support of bp’s sustainability strategy. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing carbon and environmental reports that meet both internal and external obligations including Australian NGERS and climate related financial disclosures.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collect, coordinate, and analyze sustainability data (energy, waste, water).
  • Prepare carbon and environmental reports to meet regulatory requirements.
  • Lead annual Sustainability Plan development and secure business endorsement.
  • Manage environmental and sustainability processes and procedures within ANZ.
  • Network with global bp carbon and environment teams for alignment.
  • Stay updated on technology and sustainability developments to support investments.
  • Ensure compliance with legislation and regulatory updates.
  • Provide sustainability advice, coaching, and support to the business.

Experience & Qualifications

Applicants are required to hold a bachelor's degree in engineering, sustainability, environmental science or a related field. Strong analytical skills, proficiency in Excel and Power BI, and experience with carbon accounting systems are essential.

Team and Culture

You will join a small team of environmental and sustainability SMEs in ANZ MC&M and collaborate with global bp teams, HSE&C leadership, and various stakeholders. The team fosters a supportive environment that values diversity, care, respect, and continuous growth.

Additional Information

Shift Time: 5 AM to 2 PM IST. Negligible travel is expected. This role is eligible for relocation within country and is not available for remote working. The position includes benefits such as a great work-life balance, learning opportunities, health and life insurance, and more.
