Job Description
Position Summary
The Medication Refill Center Pharmacist at Boston Medical Center manages prescription refill requests under the supervision of Refill Center Managers. The role involves triaging, processing, and approving refill renewal requests using a specified protocol and scope of practice agreement.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and process refill requests received from clinical departments.
- Collaborate directly with pharmacies, providers, and patients for medication renewals.
- Triage additional information requirements and facilitate ambulatory engagement.
- Recruit patients to benefit from BMC Outpatient Pharmacy services.
Qualifications
Requires a Bachelor's Degree in Pharmacy with preferred advanced degrees (PharmD, M.S. or MBA) and licensure in Massachusetts. At least two to three years of related pharmacy experience, with QS1 experience preferred.
Skills & Knowledge
- Comprehensive pharmacy procedures and systems expertise.
- High level analytical ability and organizational skills.
- Experience with information systems and standard software tools (MS Word, Excel, web browsers).
- Professional communication and interpersonal skills.
Compensation & Benefits
The compensation range is estimated between $43.03 and $62.50 per hour. Total compensation includes benefits such as medical, dental, vision, pharmacy, bonuses, merit increases, FSA, 403(b) matches, paid time off, and career advancement opportunities.
